New Fiction Coming Soon

Journal Entry: Sat Jul 19, 2008, 7:13 PM
Okay, so I didn't post anything new yesterday. I realize that, but it's for a good reason. I've started writing new material for GHOSTS OF STEEL, so once that's done, I'll post it. Expect it sometime in the next few days.

In other news, I'm having some surgery done on Monday. I'll be out of work for two weeks, so I should hopefully be able to get a decent amount of writing done in that time. I hope to possibly wrap up GHOSTS OF STEEL in that time, but that remains to be seen.

More Fiction for Your Face

Journal Entry: Fri Jul 11, 2008, 2:58 PM
POSTED TODAY:
- THE INSOMNIAC Part 25

COMING NEXT FRIDAY:
- GHOSTS OF STEEL Part 8 or THE INSOMNIAC Part 26

---

Okay, so there was no update last week. It was the 4th of July, which is a holiday weekend, and I took the day off. But seriously, how appropriate is it that the latest update is on the same day deviantART updates? I'm thinking, "Way appropriate."

So THE INSOMNIAC has reached 25 parts of the story. I guess this is some kind of landmark, like when a comic book series hits 25 issues or whatever. It doesn't really feel like that to me, though, 'cause I'm so far ahead in the story. That, and I wrote this in my story journal a while back, so it doesn't feel that new.

Keep on the lookout for more GHOSTS OF STEEL coming sometime in the next couple of weeks. I'm having surgery on the 21st and will be out of work for two weeks, and I hope to get a lot of writing done in the meantime. The itch to write about barbarians, bloodshed, and broadswords needs to be scratched. scratched until it BLEEDS.

Oh, and more "Capt. Scott" [link] updates coming soon, too. And hopefully the release of book 1. All very exciting stuff, trust me.

COMING THIS WEEK:
- GHOSTS OF STEEL Part 8 or THE INSOMNIAC Part 24

---

All of my old INSOMNIAC posts have been revised, and I only had to add 3 more to get everything caught up to the latest entry. This Friday will see 'THE INSOMNIAC Part 24' up and ready to read. It marks the beginnng of Chap.7 of the book.

No sign of new GHOSTS OF STEEL material coming any time soon. But it will; the story's far from dead.:)

Where, Oh, Where Did the Week Go?

Journal Entry: Wed Mar 26, 2008, 1:41 PM
  • Reading: OUTLAW NATION TPB
  • Playing: ADVANCE WARS: Days of Ruin
Wait, what? It's Wednesday already? When did that happen, and why didn't anyone inform me? I feel so left out.

No writing's been getting done these last 7 or 8 days. I know, I'm bad, but I have a good excuse. I've been to see the doctor a few times to deal with a medical issue (a few of you might know what I'm talking about), so I've been a bit busy.

Fear not! New THE INSOMNIAC Part 14 will be up on Friday nonetheless! You have my word!

Words I Wrote Today

"Dave stares at his reflection in the dirty mirror of the gas station bathroom, the lukewarm water from the sink hissing as it splashes onto the countertop. Without so much as a glance, he reaches for the liquid soap dispenser bolted to the wall and gives it two pumps, filling his palm with the sweet-smelling pink goop. He passes his other hand through the stream of water twice, then carefully brings his two hands together, rubbing the soap into a sudsy lather before rinsing his hands clean. Before reaching for the half-soaked roll of paper towels to his right, he runs his wet hands through his hair to fix the mess the pillow made of what was a rather nice haircut.

“Gut check time,” he mutters under his breath. “Just the thing I’ve been waiting for.”

He gives the paper towel roll a two good, hard spins, rips off the excess, and dries his hands. Still staring at his reflection, he takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly before slapping himself in the face, trying desperately to finish waking up.

“Show time!”

I know I said I wasn't going to write anything new for a while, but this one hit me in the face like a bolt of THOUGHTLIGHTNING. Not really sure where it came from, either, though I've been going through all my Adam & the Ants/Adam Ant CDs over the past couple of days. Maybe there's a connection, maybe not.

Also, this story has nothing to do with astronauts, barbarians, mad scientists, or immortal detectives. Totally normal fiction, which I haven't done in a while.

COMING NEXT FRIDAY:
- THE INSOMNIAC Part 13*

*Sorry, no update this weekend. I was out and about, and the battery on my laptop died before I could update, so keep your eyes peeled next Friday for the next update.
